Founder
Dan Shannon is the Founder of DPS Consulting, bringing extensive experience in security operations, risk management, and protective services. As a senior leader in the private security industry, Dan has overseen large-scale security programs across high-end residential communities, corporate environments, and critical infrastructure sites.
His background includes operational leadership, threat assessment, workforce development, and firearms training, with a focus on building professional, disciplined, and highly capable security teams. Dan is also a certified firearms instructor and brings a practical, real-world approach to training and consulting.
Through DPS Consulting, Dan delivers that experience as advisory and training — helping individuals, organizations, and the security providers who serve them make informed decisions about people, property, and assets. The firm is intentionally structured as a subject-matter-expert practice; it does not provide security personnel, guard services, or contract security operations.

We are an advisory and training firm. We do not staff posts, run patrols, or operate contract security. That focus keeps every engagement honest — you are paying for expertise, not a sales channel for services or equipment.
Every recommendation is something a real person can execute in a real environment. Security advice that only works on paper is not security advice.
We sell expertise, not equipment. Every recommendation reflects what is right for the client, not what pays the highest commission.
Many of our clients already have security personnel or contract providers in place. Our role is to enhance those programs with outside perspective and training — never to displace the people doing the work.
